Authenticator App
Keeping your accounts secure is essential to protect your personal and business information. Modern security tools like passkeys and authenticator apps provide strong protection against phishing, credential theft, and unauthorized access
What is an authenticator app?
Authenticator apps generate time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) that add a second layer of security to your login process.
How authenticator apps work:
- When you enable 2FA (two-factor authentication), the service gives you a secret key.
- Your authenticator app uses this key to generate a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds.
- You enter this code during login to verify your identity.
Popular apps:
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Authy
- Duo Mobile
Benefits:
- Adds a strong second layer of protection.
- Easy to set up and use.
